You know, one thing occurred to me after I eagerly read about, planned, and began my quinoa, lentil, and wheat berry sprout-growing project yesterday. Just what the heck does one do with sprouts? Put into salads? Eat out of hand? Ooh and aah?
Oh, well, it's all part of the grand experiment, right?
So, last night I started by rinsing 1 T each of the 3 seeds in cold water, then soaking them in an inch or so of lukewarm water in Mason jars fitted with paper towel tops (I don't have cheesecloth):
This morning, I drained the 3 jars and rinsed the seeds twice in fresh, cold water. Then I put them upside down to rest and dry for the day:
I covered them with a kitchen towel to keep the light out. Tonight, I'll repeat the rinsing procedure, and again tomorrow. Strangely, I think the quinoa have already sprouted - they look like little tadpoles already!
